Flying Stars Feng Shui helps feng shui consultants prepare a flying star study of a home: the floor plan, the people who live there, and advice room by room. This page explains what the app keeps, where it is kept, and how to delete it.
The app works with an account, so your projects are yours wherever you sign in — on an iPhone, an iPad, a Mac, an Android device, a Windows PC or a web browser. You can sign in with your email address, using a one-time code we send you, or with Sign in with Apple. With Sign in with Apple you can choose to hide your email address; we then only receive a private relay address from Apple.
For the account we keep your email address (or the relay address) and a random account number. We do not ask for your name, phone number or payment details.
So that a project can be opened on any of your devices, everything you put into it is saved to your account:
A copy is also kept on each device you use, so the app opens quickly and works while you are offline. The report pages you save go wherever you choose to save or share them.
Your account works on one phone or tablet and one computer at a time. So that we can hold those two places open for you, we keep a record of each device you sign in on: a random identifier for the device, whether it is a handheld or a computer, the name the device reports, and the date it was added. It is not used for advertising and never follows you into other apps. You can see both devices, and remove one to free the slot, under Your devices in the app.
A web browser cannot tell us which computer it is on, so when you sign in on a computer we also keep a scrambled form of the internet connection you signed in from (a one-way code made from your IP address, never the address itself). That is how another browser on the same computer, signing in over the same connection, is recognised as your computer rather than refused. Up to three browsers are remembered, and removing your computer forgets them all. Phones and tablets do not need this.
Your account and projects are stored with Supabase, our hosting provider. Data travels encrypted between the app and the servers, and is encrypted where it is stored. Each project can only be read by the account that created it. We do not look at the contents of your projects, and we never sell or share them.
If you are a consultant, the residents you add are usually your clients and their family. You are responsible for having their permission to record their details and for how you share the reports you create. Deleting a project removes their details from your account.
Subscriptions are handled by RevenueCat. In the iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android apps, payment is taken by Apple or Google. In the Windows app and on the web, payment is taken by card through Paddle, our reseller and merchant of record, which receives your card details, your email address and your billing country to take the payment, prevent fraud and meet tax rules, under Paddle's privacy policy. Either way, we never see your card details. RevenueCat receives your random account number and the purchase record, so that a subscription bought on one device is recognised on your other devices. Neither receives anything from your projects.

There is no advertising, no analytics and no tracking in the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Android and Windows apps, and nothing in them is used to follow you across other apps or websites.
We advertise Flying Stars on Google. To learn which ads bring people who go on to create an account or subscribe, this website and the web app in a browser, both at flyingstarsfengshui.net, use Google Ads conversion measurement. It stores a cookie with the ad you clicked and, when you create an account or subscribe by card, tells Google that it happened and, for a subscription, the price. It never sends your email address, your name or anything from your projects, and it is not used to show you ads elsewhere.
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland nothing is stored until you press Accept. Everywhere else you can press No thanks to turn it off. Your choice is kept in your browser; to change it, clear this site's data in your browser and choose again. Google handles this data under Google's privacy policy. The apps listed above never include it.
The website at flyingstarsfengshui.net counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It sets no cookie and keeps nothing that identifies you: it records which page was opened, which site linked to it, and the browser, type of device and country. It is not used for advertising. The web app at flyingstarsfengshui.net/app and the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Android and Windows apps do not include it. Cloudflare handles this data under Cloudflare's privacy policy.
If you write to us through the contact form on flyingstarsfengshui.net, we receive your name, your email address and your message. They are emailed to our support mailbox and used only to answer you. The form does not store them in a database, and we do not use them for marketing or share them with anyone else. They stay in the support mailbox until they are no longer needed, and we delete them when you ask. The form uses a hidden field and a short timer to turn away automated messages, and it does not set cookies.
We keep your data only for as long as your account exists.
The app is a professional tool and is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly create accounts for them.
If this policy changes in a way that affects what is kept or who receives it, the effective date above will change and the updated policy will be published here before the change reaches the app.
